Ah butternut squash. Oh how I love thee.
As you may or may not have noticed, I have many love affairs when it comes to food. Cinnamon rolls. Bananas. Peaches. Well here's another one for your notes.

(Don’t) Call It A Comeback | RECIPE: Peach Cobbler
Well, here I am again. I can't believe that it's been exactly 8 months and a day since my last post. Eight. Whole. Months. That's only one month short of a full-term pregnancy! In an alternate universe (certainly not this one), I could have been an expectant daddy with little over 30 days to get ready for the most beautiful life change of his existence.
Whoa.
I just gave my head a brisk shake like they do in cartoons. Back to reality. I guess this is what happens when you give a man a job. I started a new job right at the beginning of September and I haven't had the chance to blog since. Don't get it twisted though; my head and my heart never stopped overflowing with inspiration during my blogging leave of absence. And that's why I am here today - typing these very words.

Give Yourself A Chocogasm In Less Than 5 Minutes! | RECIPE: Microwave Brownie In A Mug
Every once in a while, I stumble upon a recipe that’s so astoundingly ingenious that it seems life-changing. Scratch that – it is life changing! Yes, this quick and easy 5-minute microwave brownie changed my life! This is no overstatement.
There was once a time when I would occasionally wallow away in the shadows, contemplating my dessert-less state of existence. I didn’t have the energy to bake, I wasn’t in the mood to pick up something from the local bakery, and going solo with ice cream just wasn’t enough! On those days of yesteryear, I’d be overcome with moments of self-pity where I would ask myself why life was so cruel as to not bless me with a fast, no-stress sweet treat. No more, kids. No more.

Father's Day Feast, Y'all
This is going to be a different kind of post. No recipes. Just a sort of gratuitous write-up about the five-course (10-item) feast I made for my family on Father’s Day. Needless to say, it was a very satisfying experience for me – and my folks, of course. While this won’t be a strict “how-to” post, I definitely will be talking about my inspirations, the ingredients and some of the methods and techniques I used.
Well, let’s get right to it!

Everything's Peachy | RECIPE: Peach Cinnamon Rolls
As I alluded to in the first cinnamon roll post, cinnamon rolls are a constant staple in my home. I’ve made them many a time – too many to count. Nowadays, whenever I make the rolls, I try to always add a different spin to it. With the plain cinnamon roll dough as a blank canvas, I use different fillings (in addition to the standard melted butter and cinnamon sugar) as the colours to paint a deliciously pretty picture. I’ve tried different variations, using fruits, nuts and chocolate as the varying fillings – all with great results.

I'm Bananas For Bananas | RECIPE: Chocolate-Frosted Banana Cake
There’s this running joke in my family that bananas are my best friend. Cue laughter. But wait, why shouldn’t they be? They appear to always be smiling. They attentively listen to me and never interrupt. And they contribute to my overall feelings of well-being by giving me the best gifts. But should friends be eaten? Well, thanks to the work of global agriculture as soon as one friend bids their final adieu, another shows right up filling the exact same role without fail, so what's there to regret?
Break Out Of The Peperoni Pizza Box! | RECIPE: Jerk Chicken & Green Pepper Pizza + Pizza Dough + Pizza Sauce
I love unusual pairings!
As I mentioned on the About page, experimentation is the name of my cooking game. I’m not afraid to add new and “nonstandard” ingredients in my dishes if I so feel the inclination. Don’t be afraid to experiment. Have you always wondered how a certain ingredient might taste if added to a certain dish? Well go for it. Needless to say, one must exercise appropriate discretion while testing out a new twist to a tried and true dish.
